Benjamin Aguirre
Associate Pastor for SLM

My name is Benjamin Aguirre and I'm from Mexico City. In 1983 I studied Business Administration and worked in that field for several years. Later I managed a musical ministry where I focused on music, live sound, and professional recording, acquiring experience in this area. For about 20 years I traveled throughout Mexico and several countries in South America, Central America, and many cities of the United States working with professional artists (singers and bands).

In response to God's call to serve him full-time, I left everything in Mexico and arrived in the Valley in 2007 to study at Rio Grande Bible Institute. At the end of 2008 I met Calvary at the invitation of one of the deacons who introduced me to the Worship Pastor of those days. He invited me to share Christmas music with my guitar. At the beginning of 2009 I was invited to collaborate with Pastor Rolando, supporting the music in the new Spanish service at Calvary Baptist Church.

After my RGBI graduation in 2010, I was hired on a part-time basis to work at Calvary. In 2013 I was ordained as a pastor and I now serve as Associate Pastor of the Spanish Ministry.  In addition to being the Music Director for Spanish Service, I help coordinate the activities of the connection groups (ABF's), life groups, and the Calvary ICC Training Institute.

My wife and my three children all serve at Calvary Baptist Church. My wife sings on the praise team. My daughter Yozy plays bass for the Spanish service. My son Benjy plays drums for the Contemporary and Spanish service. My son Israel helps with lighting, sound, and plays drums for the Wednesday night Remedy service.

I am very excited to work at Calvary because it is founded on God. The new declaration of Making of Disciple Makers is a great challenge that we have to achieve with the help of God and the enthusiasm of the church. My joy as part of the pastoral staff of Calvary is to help us reach the goal of fulfilling the Great Commission. I believe that Jesus is God and that he keeps his word. He will come soon for his church and we have to announce to all people his eternal love.

Caring for my intimate relationship with God through my daily devotional reading and prayer is important in my life. Having times alone with God are edifying and give healing to the spirit and body.
One of my favorite passages is Proverbs 3, which I read and enjoy together with my family.

My prayer is that I can serve every person that comes to Calvary, guiding them so that they know Jesus and what they can do in their lives as His disciple.
