As true neighbors, we want to BE and BUILD…
- Individual Bridges:Each of us as individuals will find ways to be good neighbors to those who live around us because we are called to love our neighbors.
- Bridges over Obstacles: We will identify and help remove the obstacles that prevent us and our neighbors from flourishing in a holistic way.
- Development Bridges: We will offer opportunities and resources that help us and our neighbors develop educationally, emotionally, physically, socially and spiritually.
- Partnership Bridges: We will participate in the flourishing of our community by partnering and collaborating with other organizations and entities.
- Bridges of Hope: We will share an expectation and hope for a better future for everyone in our community who desires it, for our neighbors, children and youth.
As we take our cue from Jesus’ agenda in
Luke 4:18-19,we become agents with Jesus of holistic ministry. We join God in bringing his “shalom” (comprehensive well-being, flourishing and peace) to our neighborhood, community and city.
Family and Community Resources
More than a typical benevolence ministry, Family and Community Resource Ministry exists to serve Calvary members and others referred to our church through long-term planning and coaching. Instead of a "hand out," this ministry exists to give people a "hand up" through difficult transitions in life. Donations are always welcome, as are volunteers to extend the reach of our lead minister.

Calvary's food pantry is a partner site of the RGV Food Bank working together to provide emergency food assistance to our community. The food distribution is free of charge and proof of residency and income are needed. The market is held the second Saturday of every month from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Throughout the distribution volunteers are available to pray with families and share the Gospel.

Primera Iglesia Bautista, Sullivan City
Primera is a church planting project in Sullivan City (Starr County), that began in 1993. After the departure of the pastor in January 2011, Raul and Alba San Martin have provided Bible study, prayer meetings, guitar lessons, sewing classes and home visitations/evangelism in the community. The San Martins also host and partner with visiting mission groups for work projects in the area. In August 2011 Primera will launch a Sunday morning worship service.
